As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare inclusivity in the Kingdom, the Health Insurance Compliance Service was launched in collaboration between Masdr, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Health Insurance Council, and the Insurance Authority. The service aims to enable employers to comply with health insurance regulations and increase the compliance rate easily and effectively.
The service provides advanced tools that allow organizations to monitor and improve their level of health insurance compliance. It enables them to view health insurance documents, compliance rates, and employee status regarding insurance, whether they are insured, uninsured, or waiting for coverage. The service also offers solutions for employers to add uninsured employees to their insurance policies or cancel insurance for excluded employees.
This initiative comes to empower employers to ensure coverage and protection for beneficiaries under the private health insurance system, ensuring they receive necessary healthcare. These efforts aim to enhance public health by focusing on prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles, in addition to contributing to creating an attractive work environment that supports productivity and sustainability, in alignment with Vision 2030’s goals of improving the quality of life.
Sarah Al-Muslim, Director of Health Insurance Solutions at Masdr, explained that the Health Insurance Compliance Service is a comprehensive and effective compliance system that allows stakeholders to view compliance rates transparently by providing innovative solutions that facilitate monitoring and are managed with high efficiency. She emphasized that it is a crucial step in enabling digital transformation in the sector by automating processes to achieve integration among stakeholders.
On his part, Sattam Al-Harbi, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Oversight and Work Environment Development, stated that this service is part of the ministry’s commitment to ensuring workers’ rights and providing an integrated work environment. He highlighted the importance of applying these innovative solutions that contribute to guaranteeing health coverage for all workers, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Iman Al-Turikai, Executive Director of Communications and Customer Excellence and Official Spokesperson for the Health Insurance Council, said, “We are working with our partners to enable employers to comply with health insurance, enhancing integration among stakeholders and ensuring that health insurance beneficiaries receive coverage and protection. This step is part of our commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services to support the health and well-being of beneficiaries.”
For his part, Sultan Al-Qahtani, Spokesperson for the Insurance Authority, noted that the launch of the Health Insurance Compliance Service represents a pivotal step toward strengthening adherence to regulatory frameworks and achieving greater transparency in the health insurance sector. He explained that this service is part of the Authority’s strategy to enable organizations to meet their obligations toward workers, by providing innovative technological tools that simplify the compliance process and support comprehensive coverage. He emphasized the continued efforts to develop policies and regulations to enhance integration among national systems and improve the efficiency of the private sector.
